As part of the Highway Apprentice competition run by The Highway and Glam Adelaide, I put on a High Tea to support the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Foundation. The event raised over $2000 and attracted over 70 people for an afternoon of delightful desserts and treats, with special guests Paul Wood, outgoing Senator Annette Hurley and Francis Wong.
I plan on making the High Tea a regular event on a smaller scale due to its overwhelming popularity!

In 2009 I brought the *Camp franchise back to Adelaide and organised BarCamp Adelaide. BarCamp Adelaide is essentially an internet and computer conference with a difference – it is organised by like-minded individuals, with all costs paid for by sponsors. No one is paid to attend and everyone presents or contributes in some way. The event was a success with over 30 attendees and the next BarCamp Adelaide is scheduled for March 2010. You can see more about the event at it’s Facebook Group or the website.

CupcakeCamp is a spin off of BarCamp – but with cupcakes. The event originated in San Fransisco in 2008 and has been held in many countries, with Australia having it’s first in Sydney in August 2009. Traditionally, the event is just about eating cupcakes but the Adelaide event will be to raise money for charity. In November 2009, Cupcake Camp Adelaide raised over $1000 for Camp Quality. The next Cupcake Camp, on April 2, 2011, has over 30 bakers registered already (January 2011).

Adelaide Twitter Meets brings together Adelaide Twitter users who are keen to meet the faces behind the screen names of those they talk to online. They attract over 30 people each meetup.

Recently I have also started a new feature of my cupcake catering business by adding cupcake decorating parties. These include a box of cupcakes for each guest and plenty of icing and sprinkles. Everyone has a great time!
